A very successful 1st CAN-UK JSCC
The first edition of the Canada – UK joint Symposium on Coordination Chemistry took place from May 30th to June 2nd, 2022. The event was organized by Prof. Fontaine and two of his colleagues, Prof. Niel Robertson and Prof. Eli Zysman-Colman at the University of St Andrews, in the United Kingdom. Overall, it was a great success, with coordination chemistry experts joining from both sides of the Atlantic ocean.
Of course, Prof. Fontaine had to opportunity to present some of our most recent results on CO2 chemistry during his talk titled “Inorganic materials for the formation of cyclic carbonates from CO2 and epoxides”. Also present was Vincent Desrosiers, who won the best poster presentation award for his “Metal-Free Transfer Borylation: a Novel Approach to C-H Functionalization” presentation. Not to mention that his participation in this conference was possible thanks to a travel scholarship from the CGCC. Overall, the event was a great success and the Fontaine group shines, even overseas.
